8th Grade Confirmation

The eighth grade students just recently received the sacrament of Confirmation this past Wednesday. The Sacrament of Confirmation is the sacrament of Catholic maturity. Our eighth grade students are now adults in the Catholic church and are advocates for their faith. At 7:00 pm, 52 Mary Our Queen students arrived at the St. Cecilia Cathedral and received the sacrament of Confirmation. The next morning the Confirmandi and parents were invited to spend the morning together for mass and breakfast. Lots of families spent the rest of the day together to celebrate the sacrament. Congratulations to all of the confirmed eighth graders!
8th Grade Cathedral Mass

This year all 8th grade students who go to a Catholic school, joined together in a church called the Cathedral. During this mass, a handful of priests from each of the schools, as well as the archbishop, join together to make this mass special for all the school's 8th graders and leaders. At the beginning of the ceremony, each school carried a banner with their school's crest throughout the church. For Mary Our Queen, an 8th grader named Liam K. got the privilege of holding our school’s crest. As the mass went on, all students got to learn about the message of meaning, the reason we were being called to the church, and the responsibility when turning towards the Catholic faith. We ended with all the school’s lining up to take a picture with the archbishop on the altar. This was a great learning experience for all the 8th graders, and we will be looking forward to seeing next years 8th graders from Mary Our Queen.
Catholic Schools Week Prayer Service

To kick off Catholic Schools Week, the Mary Our Queen students had a prayer service. The prayer service was held in the gym on January 26th. A few 8th grade leaders lead the school in a prayer. We had a very special guest helping with the service, Deacon Floersch.
At the end of the service, Mary Our Queen introduced a new school song! The song has been in the making for several years. The 2025 Catholic Schools Week was a very fun and faith- filled week.
