Distance (Online) Learning Guidelines and Contact Information

_____ Materials Needed Fully charged Chromebook (earbuds and a mouse, optional) and your Study Island Username and Password

_____ Attendance You will be required to sign on everyday when there is a scheduled school day. To take attendance, you will need to log on to Google Classroom and find the “Attendance Question” for that day. It will be labeled with the day’s date. Answer the question, and submit it and that will mark you present for the class for that day. You MUST log on to Google Classroom and do this for each class in order to be considered present. If you do not, you will be counted absent on JMC.

*Note: Attendance questions are separate from daily assignments. Attendance is due by 11:59PM each day

_____ Assignments and Classwork You will have a post on Google Classroom everyday. Some days may have assignments and some may just have instructions or a small activity to complete. Make sure you are carefully reading the instructions on all posts and assignments, and make sure you reach out to me if you are unsure what to do, something isn’t working, or you have questions. All assignments will be due by their designated due dates that are also posted on each post everyday. My assignments will typically be due by 11:59PM on the due date and some will be due by 8:00 the next morning.

All daily posts and assignments will be posted by 8:15 AM every morning.

_____ Live Meeting Session I will be offering live meeting sessions to meet on every Wednesday morning. These meetings will be used as a way for us to check in with one another and for me to answer any quick questions you might have. This is NOT a required meeting session, but you are welcome to join if you would like.

1st Hour: Wednesdays from 9:00-9:15

2nd Hour: Wednesdays from 9:20-9:35

3rd Hour: Wednesdays from 9:40- 9:55

4th Hour: Wednesdays from 10:00-10:15

8th grade: Wednesdays from 10:20-10:35

A link to these sessions will be posted on Google Classroom on the day and at the time of the session. If you would like to join these sessions, please log on to Google Classroom a couple minutes before your class period’s session starts and watch for the link to appear. If you feel you need a small group or one-on-one session we can set up a live meeting session to do this during office hours.

Office Hours

_____ Emails You can email me any time of the day. I will be checking emails between the hours of 8:00am & 3:15pm. If you email outside of these hours you will likely not get a response until the next school day.

_____ Phone calls and live meeting sessions hours You may call me on the phone or through a live meeting session during the following hours. 9am - 11am and 1pm - 2pm on the days school is in session. If these times do not work for you please email me and we will schedule a time that does work.

_____ *Please Note: If you contact me via phone, you will be directed to my school voice mail. Please follow the instructions and leave a message. Once every school day I will check my messages and return your call either by phone or by email.
