Theatre Night Awards

Celebrating Excellence in Educational Theatre

The Montclair State University Theatre Night Awards—also known as the Foxy Awards—celebrate the creativity, artistry, dedication, and educational achievements of student theatre programs throughout New Jersey.

Elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, district-wide programs, summer camps, youth theatre organizations, and other educational theatre organizations are invited to submit their productions for professional adjudication and recognition.

Registration Is Open for 2027!

Productions must have been performed and recorded by January 15, 2027 and may not have been submitted during a previous Theatre Night Awards season.

Registration includes:

• Professional adjudication and written feedback for one theatrical production

• Consideration of up to seven individual performers

• Eligibility for applicable specialty-category recognition

• The opportunity for two performers from each production to participate in the ceremony opening number

• One complimentary ceremony ticket for the production’s director

• Access to a recording of the ceremony

Registration Fees

• First production: $150

• Each additional production: $125

How the Process Works

1. Complete the Theatre Night Awards Registration Form.

2. Receive an invoice and unique Production ID for each production.

3. Submit your production recording and overall production information.

4. Submit individual acting and specialty-category nominations.

5. Receive professional adjudication and celebrate your students at the 2027 Theatre Night Awards!

Important 2027 Dates

• January 15: Registration, payment, production materials, and nomination deadline

• February 1: Jo Anne Fox Award nominations due

• April 15: Nominees announced and ticket sales open

• May 25: Middle School Ceremony featuring Elementary Rising Star Recognition at Montclair State University

• May 26: High School Theatre Night Awards Ceremonies at Montclair State University

Schools and organizations registering close to January 15 will receive an adjusted materials deadline with their registration confirmation.
