Core list of Apps from initial iPad
Favorite Apps!
Word Valut Pro: This app is an investment, but I use it every single day. It material for articulation, language, phonology and social skills. I use it mostly for artic. It has all sounds in all positions at all levels (word, phase, sentence, paragraph). For language, it has plurals (reg and irreg), verbs (reg and irreg), adjectives, compare/contrast words. Artic and most of the language material have photographs to go with the target word.
Pogg: This app shows a character (Pogg) doing different actions (jumping, drawing, hopping, eating, walking, etc.) It is perfect to use when trying to elicit verb+ing or is/are.
Conversation Builder Deluxe: this app allows for a structured task to build reciprocal turn taking. You can have your student be the initiator or the app can be the initiator for up to 4 reciprocal turns. The student selects from a field of 3 of the most appropriate choice. They can then record themselves for auditory feedback for using appropriate intonation etc.
Emotions: an app where you have a field of 4 emotions and the student has to choose the emotion that is being said by the app. Once the student makes the correct selection I like to ask them “what could you say to that person” as a follow up for social skills.
What's the pic? Artic: this app targets articulation and you are able to add multiple students/target various sounds at once. A picture is hidden behind items (i.e. bubbles, balloons, etc.) and as the students say their target words the bubbles/balloons slowly disappear revealing the picture behind them. The students are able to take a guess of what the main picture is.
Pronouns with Splingo: this app allows you to receptively target all pronouns. The student is given a direction (i.e. She wants the cupcake, the boat belongs to them) and the student drags the item that represents the appropriate pronoun.
Splingo's Language Universe: this app targets following directions with increasing complexity. You can choose directions as simple as "put the robot on the school" or as complex as "put the towel under the princess's red chair/put the dog who is running behind the little bed"
I Spy (Lola Free): I Spy game in which the student has to find the objects and produce carrier phrases.
Cupcake Chef: I use more for break. The student is able to complete the steps of making batter, baking, decorating, and eating a cupcake. (ALL of my preschoolers request this over and over)
Farmyard: Student can place nouns that you see on a farm on the landscape. I use this for prepositions and following directions.
Talking Ben: Reinforcer App. My articulation students enjoy hearing themselves in someone else’s voice. They can hear if they are producing the sounds correctly.
Sort It Out 1 and 2: Student has to place nouns in correct categories (3 category fields)
WH Questions from Super Duper: I use WHO since that is free. Can use app a few different ways.
Name Things from Super Duper: Free
HearBuilder: Following Directions: Super Duper: I use this one a lot with younger students. It has an easy, medium, and hard level for each of the 5 sections.
