Project Description:
The Electrical Power and Energy Systems group focuses on pioneering research in Smart Grids, Microgrids, and Renewable Energy Systems, integrating cutting-edge advancements in Energy Storage, Electric Vehicles (EV) and Charging Infrastructure. Our projects drive Grid Modernization and Digitalization, emphasising High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Transmission and cybersecurity in power systems. We explore the optimization of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and Power Electronics, contributing to sustainable and resilient energy systems. Join us in advancing these critical areas and shaping the future of energy technology through innovative solutions and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Requirements:
Open to Malaysians and International Students
Hold an excellent Bachelor degree with CGPA of at least 3.00 (Second upper) or equivalent (for Masters)] and [3.67 (First class) or equivalent (for PhD)] in Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar disciplines.
Students who are expected to graduate in the near future are also encouraged to apply.
Having prior journal publications is preferable
Strong analytical skills and mathematical background.
Fundamental knowledge in the areas of electrical power systems
Strong skills in programming/ using tools, such as MATLAB/ PSCAD/PSSE
Excellent, motivated, and self-driven.
