Project title: Design and development of Regenerative Braking System using fluid power (Air) for Small and Medium Vehicles
Position: PhD / Masters student
Benefits:
100% tuition fee waiver
RM2,850 monthly stipend (up to 42 months for PhD and up to 27 months for Masters)
Supervisors: Dr Veera Ragavan S.
Project Description:
The increasing carbon footprint from vehicles and the rise in price and demand for fuel has pushed the need to find substitutes. The search for alternate energy to conventional fuel sources has led to hybrid vehicles and regenerative braking. An alternate energy source can be in the form of compressed air, pressurized hydraulic, or electric. The project aims to Model, Simulate, Design, and Develop a Physical Twin of a Regenerative Braking System of an automobile under Urban driving conditions. The objective is to design and build a "Brand Neutral" Working prototype of a Parallel Pneumatic Regenerative Braking Launch Assist (PPRB/LA) System using fluid power (Air) for Small and Medium Vehicles.
Requirements:
Open to Malaysian or International Candidates
Hold a good Master degree with a GPA of at least 3.00 in Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar disciplines.
Alternatively, for direct progression from Bachelor degree to Ph.D. study: GPA of at least 3.67 or equivalent
Students who are expected to graduate in the near future are also encouraged to apply.
Strong analytical skills and mathematical background.
Strong skills in programming/ using tools, such as MATLAB, C/C++, or python.
Excellent, motivated, and self-driven.
