Electives? what are they?
Being successful in Biomedical Science isn't just about learning the science - you'll do that through your core units.
In your first year, you can choose two (2) electives, one (1) for each semester.
Your elective units give you the opportunity to:
pursue something you're interested in,
broaden your horizons and interests,
meet, discuss and learn with students from outside biomedical science,
explore and challenge your perspective and way of thinking and
further develop or build your the skills and experiences
Together, the experiences you get from your electives will build your employability for your future careers.
OMG! I have no idea what to choose!
We know! It's a hard choice. There are so many options to choose from. Our advice???
Pick a unit that sounds interesting to you - you're more likely to do better in a unit if you're interested in the content!
Electives are a great way for exploring other areas. Your undergraduate studies is a great time to explore and try other units out!
Good opportunity to work with other students outside of biomedical science
Builds skills in interdisciplinary teamwork, communication and professionalism, current affairs and bigger picture perspective.
