Art

Sara's work has been excellent all year in Studio Art. She is an active participant in class discussions and continually strives to improve her artwork. Her attention to detail, positive attitude and work ethic combine to make Sara the Visual Arts Student of the Month.

David actively participates in class and his comments are very insightful. He comes to class prepared, works hard and is responsible. David actively participates even on his remote days and remains engaged in the learning.

Marissa has been one of the hardest-working students I have had in class. Marissa values each learning opportunity and actively participates in all lessons. She is extremely dedicated to her classwork and is always going the extra mile to complete assignments to their highest potential. Marissa brings a friendly attitude to class, she is responsible and always contributing in a positive way.

Jameson is a young man that consistently provides great energy to our algebra class through his positive demeanor and strong work ethic. He is a student that can be counted on for exceptional participation and appropriate insight. Jameson strives for excellence by demonstrating curiosity within problems and he places a strong emphasis on the accuracy of his work. I appreciate his willingness to always take on a challenge, which makes him a great role model for students throughout our building.

Sophia Brown

Music

Sophia Brown is an 11th grader who has been involved in the high school choir, select choir and Mohon Masque for many years. In addition to being a talented musician, she is also very involved in the Media Arts programs at the high school. For the past several months, she has been voluntarily assisting the a cappella group record a video for the ICHSA (International Championship of High School A cappella). She has spent countless hours at rehearsals gathering footage and at home compiling and editing it together beautifully. The finished product will be live-streamed in March and could not have come together without all her time and efforts! We are extremely proud to have Sophia as a member of our music department and appreciate her hard work both when she is performing and working from behind the scenes!

Hulaimatu Diallo

Science

Hulai is new this year and recently switched over to hybrid learning. Since day one of entering the classroom she has brought such a positive energy! Hulai is friendly, warm, and respectful when interacting with her peers. She does not shy away from participating in class and often brings new insights and thoughts to our discussions. Most recently Hulai was one of a handful of students who received a 100% on her unit project. Not only did she go above and beyond in her research and creation of her slide show but she integrated her personality which shone through. Hulai's dedication and passion for my class is admirable and I would like to recognize her hard work during a year that is unlike any other. Keep up the amazing work Hulai!

Julia Varga

Social Studies

Julia's work is always done on time and to perfection. She has earned a 100 both in her 1st and 2nd quarter grades and she is well on her way to do the same in the 3rd. She is an active participant in class and is always there if called upon when online. A pleasant young person to chat with, she has expressed how difficult online learning is and the obstacles she and her fellow students face. Her experiences with hybrid and distance learning has helped me to create a reasonable pace with my lesson plans and assignments.

Benedetto Fusco

Technology

Benedetto is a student who goes above and beyond what is expected. He has a very positive attitude, an excellent work ethic and is very kind and helpful to his classmates and adults. Benedetto’s work consistently shows a high level of effort and quality.

Benedetto has developed his skills in technology and engineering outside the classroom by participating in many after school activities this year. He constructed a model of a balsa wood bridge, he is Vice President of the robotics club and he designed a logo for the Mohonasen Business Advisory Board.

Hunter Struffolino

Work-Based Learning

Hunter is a 9th grader who is a team player and eager to help others. In the Work Based Learning program Hunter takes pride in completing his jobs accurately and safely. Several times a week Hunter helps to prepare the Coffee Cart in the mornings and also enjoys keeping the Varsity Boys Basketball equipment clean. We are super proud of you Hunter!

Gabriella Monroe

World Languages

I have had the pleasure of teaching Gabriella for the past four years. Gabby is a talented, motivated and mature student who always maintains a positive attitude and is willing to help others who may be struggling. She consistently puts forth a tremendous effort in class and always strives to do her absolute best. Gabby continues to show her enthusiasm for learning by always remaining actively engaged in each lesson. She is a great role model for her peers and has shown exceptional leadership skills during my class and also as an officer for Spanish Honor Society. I can always count on Gabby to participate and share her thoughts and ideas. Gabby truly adds to a positive academic environment and I am grateful to have taught her since she was a freshman.
