Isabella Bustelos

Art

Isabella is a Studio Art student who goes above and beyond on every assignment that she has been given. The artwork that she produces takes time beyond scheduled class hours and her understanding of the materials is superior. Isabella is naturally talented, but it is her passion for the visual arts that makes her truly stand out.

Spiro Mikropoulos

English

Spiro is an extremely conscientious and considerate student, especially during our shutdown last spring and throughout this hybrid year. Spiro is the first to log in to classes and the last to log out. He consistently has his work done early but done without haste, and participates in class regularly. Spiro is kind, honest, and willing to donate his time and talents to those in need. He seeks out new challenges and looks for opportunities to be involved in the school community.

She is a hard-working, responsible student and these attributes positively influence students in the class.

Anum Amir

Mathematics

Anum is a rock star in Regents Geometry. She got a 100 for her Quarter 1 average, a 100 on her Unit 2 Test and she submits every single assignment on time so she currently has a 100 marking period average for Quarter 2. I could use her tests and quizzes as answer keys because she does such a great job! Anum is self-motivated as evidenced by her asking for a geometry textbook to use as a resource, which has helped her to be very successful. Anum regularly volunteers to answer questions during class, she is very polite and is a pleasure to have in class. Anum Amir is a great role model for her peers!

Glenn Shepherd

Music

Glenn is a member of the band and also Tri-M Honor Society. Though a completely virtual student this year, Glenn has excelled on his trombone and logs on to class faithfully every day. His sense of humor and cheerful attitude always help make the rest of the band smile. Glenn has also been teaching himself the baritone at home and has gone above and beyond the classroom assignments by creating his own compositions and arrangements. Glenn is kind and considerate, and very helpful with the other band members. Congratulations to him for being so successful and positive during this strange time of learning music!

Dominic

Bates-Cooper

Science

Dominic is rocking it as a complete remote learner. He actively participates in class, volunteers to help his peers, and is invested in our class. I can count on him to answer questions, complete his work on time, try his hardest, and be invested in the course. A few weeks ago, he pleasantly surprised me when he found related youtube videos to the one of the Tesla Coil shown in class. Just last week when a student was struggling with the mechanics of a virtual assignment, he volunteered to help the student in a breakout room so that I could keep helping their classmates. Dominic brings great energy to our end of the day class and I would love to see him be recognized as an academic student of the month.

Ayanna Robinson

Social Studies

To be a successful young adult after high school whether it be in college, the military or entering the job force you need to be motivated, organized and outspoken. With guidance and a little hope, most students leave high school with these qualities. It has been my experience through classroom interacting, not only in person but also in the virtual setting, that Ayanna Robinson already possesses all three. Ayanna always completes her work and is never afraid to participate in class discussions, oftentimes she appears to hold back her opinions only to let them pour out! It's clear she not only understands the material and topics we cover in class, she also possesses a solid understanding of the other important issues in our society today. Ayanna has been a standout in Participation in Government and I have no doubt she will be successful in whatever she decides to do in the future.

Andrew Bissoondyal

Technology

Andrew is a senior in my Production and Construction I class. Andrew is well behaved in class and enjoys working with the other students. He continues to show interest and skill in the field and his effort and motivation are second to none. I truly enjoy having conversations with Andrew and talking about the many projects he works on at home. He is a courteous and responsible young adult. Continue the good work!

Genesis Whalen

Work-Based Learning

Genna will be graduating in June 2021 and she is one of the shining stars in the Work Based Learning Program this school year. Many of the students look up to Genna and take cues from her positive, kind, and friendly attitude. She takes her job as barista of the Mohonasen Coffee Express very seriously and has helped the Coffee Cart become one of the most popular parts of the day for the coffee, tea, and hot chocolate loving faculty and staff. Her hard work, attention to detail, and focus on academics make her a role model for others at the high school.
