Start on a consistent home routine
Discuss and set priorities (Homework vs play vs enrichment tasks)
Have a timetable / schedule for after school hours (e.g. homework time, play time, rest time, lunch time, family time) and encourage your child to follow the schedule
Follow a strict bed-time routine (e.g. bedtime at 9 p.m. every weekday)
Cultivate good habits (E.g. packing the schoolbag every day, preparing the uniform before bedtime)
Create a conducive environment at home
Have a specific and proper study area away from distractions
Keep study area as neat and organised as possible
Keep books and related school work / materials in a place where your child can manage on his/her own
Monitor your child's schedule and progress
Actively monitor your child's daily work and progress
Set clear expectations and follow through with consequences
Closely monitor your child's after-school activities and dismissal times
Control and monitor the use of TV, computers and other digital devices
Schedule an appropriate time for using the device, and plan fun physical activities for your child to engage in at other times.
Refrain from putting TV and electronic gadgets in your child’s bedroom, and put away such devices after use.
Observe ‘tech-free’ times (e.g. during meals, homework and bedtime)
Monitor access by using the device together with your child
