In this Applied Module, students work in pairs to plan, prepare, cook and serve a nutritious Baked Macaroni dish for their chosen target group. (eg: children/teenagers/adults/elderly)
Students start by choosing an age group and decide the disease the person is suffering from. In their research gathering, they present information on the causes and preventive measures of the disease and factors to consider when planning meals for different age groups. The surprise element during the practical exam required them to choose 2 ingredients that can be added to the Baked Macaroni which would benefit the person who is suffering from the disease.
For example: Choosing chicken filet and capsicum to provide iron and vitamin C, suitable for a teenager suffering from Anemia.
Below are some examples of the final project!
