Secondary 1 students visited an urban farm, Edible Garden City, to learn how growing-your-own-food benefits the self (eating healthy, knowing what goes into your food), the community, the environment and how the urban farm aligns with SG 30 by 30 goal. Students observed the different agricultural concepts (such as hydroponics, soil farming etc) that are employed by a local urban farm.
Selected students had a chance to learn about the history and cultural significance of Singaporean cuisine, including the challenges faced by traditional dishes and how the business innovates to remain relevant in the market. Students will be able to gain hands-on experience and insight into different Otah production stages. 2. Encourage a deeper appreciation and the preservation of traditional delicacies, fostering a sense of national pride. 3. Introducing a contemporary variation to the traditional Otah that is in keeping with the demands of modern living.
