History

LEARN

Students will learn how to conduct a guided inquiry in response to a question of historical interest. 


Historical Investigation provides students with the opportunity to utilise historical skills in answering an inquiry-based question of historical interest. 


This workshop allows students to appreciate archaeology as a discipline through hands-on-experience in exploring the different processes of archaeology.

GROW

Students will learn how to gather and interpret sources from various repositories to promote active citizenry. 


Secondary 3 students will participate in a one-hour history challenge where they engage with the disciplinary aspects of history, display in-depth knowledge of the subject and apply conceptual understanding across different periods. The students will also attend a seminar based on the year’s theme for MOE’s History Talent Development Programme.  


All new DOTS Humanities students will attend this workshop where they will learn how to get started with Model UN and be prepared for future local and international MUN conferences. The workshop include fundamental skills in research, resolution-writing, and MUN rules of procedure. 


To learn more about the migrant community in Singapore and have the opportunity to collaborate with Migrant X to come up with programmes to better understand the migrant commmunity.

GLOW

Students will apply their knowledge of past and present sources to come up with suitable solutions to present concerns or historical narratives that will help promote active citizenship.   


MUN, is an educational simulation in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. MUN involves and teaches participants researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.

LEARN

Students engage actively in geographical inquiry so that they learn how to research, represent and present their findings. 


Students will be given the opportunity to hone geographical skills in answering an inquiry-based question of geographical interest. 


GROW

Students will acquire and extend their development of geographical competencies such as disciplinary thinking and research skills in a new context through analysis and presentation of geographical information in order to promote passionate inquirers in geography. 


Students will be given the opportunity to apply their geographical skills and knowledge in this competition. 


GLOW

Students apply their knowledge, skills and passion in geography where they will propose and, where appropriate, take individual action through participation in contemporary geographical issues to develop students who are advocates in environmental issues. 


Students will have the opportunity to hone their geographical knowledge and public speaking skills in their training as guides at Punggol New Town
