A sharing of how patience (Greek: Makrothumia) forms the basis for building positive classroom culture.
Key questions include: What is patience? Why must I be patient? How can I be patient?
Presenter will also be sharing a few personal recounts of trying situations followed by the approach he had used to handle these situations.
There will also be a focus on praise and respect in the classroom, and finally linking it back to positive classroom culture.

Students are motivated by teachers they respect. Teachers show genuine care and concern for students by holding them accountable and by acknowledging their good work. We found that teachers who show that they care are more successful in reaching out to students. This session focuses on some strategies that the presenters have adopted over 2 years with their classes. These strategies have helped them to build a positive classroom culture.
