Did you know that every classroom at Riverside has its very own stack of English Language (EL) magazines? Each class has been issued around 20 past issues of educational EL magazines, kept right in your classroom — so they are always within easy reach.
These magazines are a great resource for your reading periods. If you ever forget to bring your own book on a Monday or Friday, simply grab one from the stack, enjoy a good read during the session, and return it when you are done.
The magazines cover a wide range of interesting topics and are a fantastic way to pick up new vocabulary, discover different writing styles, and read about things that matter to you — all in bite-sized, engaging articles that do not require you to commit to an entire book.
Of course, these magazines are a shared resource, which means taking care of them is everyone's responsibility. Handle them with care so that your classmates can enjoy them too.
The class EL representative will be helping to keep track of the stack and making sure the copies stay in good condition — so do your part by returning them promptly and keeping them neat.
Think of your classroom magazine stack as a little library of its own. Make the most of it — you never know which article might spark your next big interest!
