The main purpose of the Secondary 4 and 5 Level Camp is to help the students find ways in handling challenges they may face in their graduating and post-secondary years. Their Level Camp thus consists of activities such as motivational talks, workshops for cultivating effective studying habits, and career guidance activities.

In summary the 3-day workshop was an eventful crash course; one that has helped the students to gear up for the year. It was a preparation for the secondary 4 students ahead of the early admissions period to equip us with the necessary skills needed to maneuver through our journey. The workshop kick-started with a self-identification activity which was the first step to better understand ourselves. Using the knowledge that we gained, we were then needed to craft our study plan whilst inculcating the study techniques that were introduced. Not to mention a large chunk of time was also spent on interview preparation! We learned about the possible interview question types, the intention behind those questions and how to approach them to leave a strong impression of ourselves. Some classes participated in dragon boating due to good weather which most of us enjoyed.
The knowledge we picked up coupled with the trainers’ enthusiasm shown through the many sharing of life experiences, made the whole journey enjoyable and memorable for most of us.
I found the workshop especially helpful to hone my critical thinking skills. As part of interview preparations, the class had many interview practices with our peers but one practice in particular truly tested my ability. I had seized the opportunity to be one of the five interviewees before my very own trainer as the judge. It was a reenactment of the real life interview setting that not only required me to answer the questions well and eloquently, but to also put up a captivating persona - through my body posture and my style of answering that would make me stand out. All these requirements needed me to tap on my critical thinking skills. It was an uncomfortable yet rewarding experience when I received my personal feedback and became aware of what can be refined.
