In this page, we look forward to contributions of ideas from all PAs, all levels in the Secondary level curriculum. We have only one condition - to hear how your idea energize you. Let's go!
Following Tim Hopper's challenge model to allow higher-readiness group of players to still compete enthusiastically against lesser opponents, exaggeration/modification to the game are added to the leading team (by points) as they approach the finish line (first to however many points you as the teacher set in the original game).

This week I planned for my S3 classes to play handball modified 4V4 games with constraints, to exaggerate the need for passing and off-the-ball skills I want them to surface their own gaps in.(E.g. 'Cher I cannot find my players. Why the defenders always swarm to me so fast?)
But I have a problem. With SMM, I fixed my group size to same 8 pax, and being mixed gender groups, when they play 4v4 mixed teams, the chasm in readiness can be huge. (Pre-covid I will swap teams to match levels).
Linus Neo introduced me to use dice for running lessons. So these dice sat on my desk. I decide to use it for my 4v4 games.
This is how it goes :
1. At start, one constraint each on both teams;
2. When one team leads by 2 points, they come to me and roll a die. (See board for constraints)
3. Go back to game and continue play with 2 or more constraints.
The story I sell them is - sometimes you go eat noodles, then the noodles not shiok for you (no challenge), so you ask for chili to add spices to your life. It's the same in my games. You think your opponents not up to your readiness and skills? Come add spices. See if it's still so easy.
I had one team with 3 constraints (leading 4 points) then the other team caught up but they still won. Told me they are damn good. (No overhead passes, min. 5 passes and 3 sec max.) I believe them. Looks like I need to do something else again.
