Purchase of Personal Learning Device 

Overview

The PLD will be used in tandem with the national e-learning platform – the Singapore Student Learning Space (SLS) – as well as other educational technology to personalise and enhance students’ learning. This will also enable students to acquire digital skills and apply these skills as they navigate an increasingly digitalised world. 

The PLD Bundle

The school has made arrangements for you to purchase the PLD from AsiaPac Distribution Pte. Ltd. for your child’s/ward’s use in school. The vendor has been identified based on the choice of device determined by the school from a panel of awarded suppliers established by MOE. The PLD bundle which includes warranty and insurance for purchase by your child/ward will be:

• Storage (GB): 64GB 

• Enhanced Bundle Warranty: 3-Year carry-in warranty 

• Enhanced Bundle Insurance: 3-Year insurance

The price of the device bundle (inclusive of GST) is: S$882.90 (last update: 3 Jan 2025)

Use of Edusave

MOE has provided an Edusave top-up of $200 in 2022 and 2023, to all eligible Singaporean students. This is on top of the annual Edusave contribution of $290 for secondary students. 

Students who are Singapore citizens can use their Edusave to pay for the PLD, after setting aside provision for payment of 2nd tier miscellaneous fees. Parents/Guardians can also choose to pay cash for the PLD. 

To check the student's Edusave balance, parents/guardians/students can call MOE 24hr automated hotline at 6260 0777. 

Financial Assistance 

Subsidies are available for eligible students who require financial support to purchase a PLD.  Any student who requires additional support in purchasing a PLD bundle should not submit the PLD Procurement Parent's / Guardian's Consent Form but approach our staff in the school General Office first.

Please note that as indicated on the MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) application form, it is compulsory for all students on the MOE FAS to use their Edusave to pay for the PLD, after subsidies have been granted.  

Students on the School-based FAS who are eligible for PLD subsidies are strongly encouraged to use their Edusave to pay for the PLD to enjoy further subsidies, where required, to reduce cash outlay.

Internet Access at Home

Students must bring their PLDs to school and bring them back to home daily. The learning must be seamless.

Hence, for eligible Singaporean students who do not have Internet access at home and require additional support, please approach our staff in the school General Office.

School will assist in applying either NEU PC Plus (Broadband only) Scheme, or Home Access Scheme, both under IMDA.
