Yes. For parents who wish to request for a school transfer, please complete your child’s registration in his/her posted secondary school first. 

For appeals for serious medical conditions, if you assess that your posted secondary school is unable to accommodate your child’s physical health or special learning needs, you may appeal for a transfer. Appeals can be filed at your posted secondary school in person on 19 Dec 2025 (Friday) from 0830 to 1200. Read more in the Appeal for School Transfer subpage.

For parents who wish to request for a school transfer into Mayflower Secondary School, please complete your child’s registration in his/her posted secondary school first. After which, you may apply to be on the School Transfer waitlist via FormSG in the Appeal for School Transfer subpage.

Yes. Students joining the school via DSA-Sec still need to e-register.

If your documents are in order, we will be able to process your application between 7 to 10 working days and we will notify you of the status accordingly. If not, we will only be able to process your application once the required supporting documents are submitted.

Please proceed to our General Office with the other school’s approval letter and our staff will issue you our school’s letter for collection of books and uniform.

Students will receive a personalised S1 Option Form and Eligibility Letter. The form will include information on the student’s eligibility for language programmes such as Higher Mother Tongue Language or a Third Language.

Your child may be eligible for MTL exemption if they:

• Are returning from overseas and had no opportunity to learn an official MTL, a Non-Tamil Indian Language (NTIL) or an approved Foreign Language or Asian Language for a sustained period of time.

• Have special educational needs, with severe difficulties in coping with overall learning.

Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis and evaluated holistically to assess if exemption is in the best educational interest of your child. Parents can contact HOD MT at 6457 7783 to discuss if the child should/could apply for MT Exemption.

Students who have been exempted from Mother Tongue Language in primary school do not have to re-apply for exemption.

Students who took HMT in primary school do not by default take HMT at secondary school . Students will receive the HMT offer letter from MOE if they are eligible.

To qualify for HMTL, students must get either:

• PSLE MTL Score of AL1/AL2

OR

• HMTL score of Distinction/Merit

Students who have obtained AL1 for MT or Distinction/Merit for HMT are eligible for HMT. More details will be provided in the MT briefing session during Sec 1 Registration. 

Full Subject-Based Banding (Full SBB) is part of MOE's ongoing efforts to nurture the joy of learning and develop multiple pathways to cater to the different strengths and interests of our students.

With Full SBB, we are moving towards a secondary school education where students learn each subject at the level that best caters to their overall strengths, interests and learning needs.

Students in PG 2 or PG 1, and meet the eligibility criteria, can offer English, Math, Science & Mother Tongue at MDL from the start of Sec 1. Students can offer Humanities subjects at MDL from Secondary 2 onwards, based on their Secondary 1 results.

Yes they have the option though it would be beneficial for the child to take up the subject at the demanding level so as to stretch their ability in their areas of strength.

If the child takes up the offer to study the subject at the more demanding level, the child is recommended to study at the more demanding level at Secondary 2 as well.

Yes. Students can be inserted at the following junctures: after Semester 1 in Secondary 1, at the end of Secondary 1 [For start of Sec 2] and end of Secondary 2 [For start of Sec 3].

Parents can check your child's Edusave account balance by calling the 24-hour automated hotline at 6260 0777.

In the meantime, students and parents can refer their questions to the respective form teachers or HOD ICT, Mr Shankar Nair.

Co-Curricular Activities or CCAs are a key component of students’ holistic education. Through CCAs, students discover their interests and talents. CCAs also provide platforms for students to develop their character, learn values, social emotional competencies and other relevant skills to prepare them for future challenges.

CCAs bring students from diverse backgrounds together. By learning and interacting with one another, students develop friendships and deepen their sense of belonging to the school and community.

A CCA is compulsory for all secondary school students. Secondary school students may pursue their interests and participate in external activities, but not in-lieu of a school-based CCA.

Students can choose from any of these 4 CCA groups:

• Performing Arts: Concert Band, Chinese Dance, Chinese Ensembles, Choir, Drama, Modern Dance

• Sports: Basketball(Boys), Bowling, Football(Boys), Netball(Girls), Table Tennis, Taekwondo

• Uniformed Groups: NCC (Land)(Boys), NPCC, Scouts

• Clubs: Enterprise Club, Infocomm Club, Literary & Oratorical Club

The students will get to explore what the 18 CCAs are about on Tuesday 6th January 2026, 2:30pm -5:30pm as part of their Sec 1 Orientation Programme.

From 8th to 29th January 2026, students can also join the CCAs during the CCA Experience period for auditions and trials. Check out the respective CCA try out schedule here.

Students' shoes are to be predominantly white-based. No outlandish designs and colours. Velcro is allowed.

This programme is a four-year music course for students who are musically inclined. It is an in depth study of Music. Music teachers will notify students of the application dates and provide them with the necessary documents for completing online registration.

Mayflower Secondary School does not offer MEP. Interested students will be given the link to the website with instructions to register and sign up through the music teachers. Notice will also be sent out in PG. Successful applicants would be notified which venue they would offer MEP. 

Students who have been accepted into the programme can be exempted from Design & Technology (D&T) as well as Food and Consumer Education (FCE).
