If you assess that your posted secondary school is unable to accommodate your child’s physical health or special learning needs, you may appeal for a transfer. Appeals can be filed at your posted secondary school in person by 22 December 2025 (Monday), 12pm.
Things to remember about appealing for a transfer based on medical reasons:
Appeals will only be considered on exceptional basis for students with:
Serious medical conditions, such as chronic heart conditions or kidney problems.
Severe physical impairments, such as those requiring permanent use of a wheelchair.
All appeals must be accompanied by relevant supporting documents, such as medical reports, letters from doctors.
The staff at your child’s posted secondary school will help to file your appeal. The appeal results will be released by 30 December 2025.
If you intend to appeal for a transfer, your child must still report to their posted school on the first day of school in January. Refer to the posted school’s website for reporting details.
Students seeking transfers should continue to attend their posted secondary school until their transfer is approved.
If you are seeking a transfer due to other reasons, it is important to keep the following in mind:
You should submit your appeal directly to your preferred school. Find out more about the appeal process from the school's website.
All schools have programmes to cater to the diverse strengths and interests of students. You are encouraged to let your child settle in the posted school, so as not to disrupt their learning. Schools will need time to process the appeals and the outcome of the appeals may only be known from mid-January. Schools may also not be able to accept appeals due to limited vacancies.
Your child’s PSLE score must meet the school’s cut-off point (COP) of that posting year. This is required as it ensures that the S1 Posting remains fair, transparent and objective to all who participated. Admitting students who do not meet the school’s COP would not be fair to other students who obtained a similar or even better PSLE score, but had failed to obtain a place in the school through the S1 posting process.
Your child needs to meet the school’s admission criteria.
The school must have available vacancies.
