Student Management

Vision

Mission

Every Innovian a self-disciplined pupil who is value-driven and able to lead positively

The Student Management team aims to develop our pupils into leaders with self-discipline, to take responsibility for their actions and demonstrate care for others

Department Values

Integrity

To speak the truth and do the right thing for the right reasons.

Self-Discipline

To persevere and do the right thing.

Teamwork

To work together to achieve a common goal.

Adaptability

To embrace change and make improvements.

Respect

To treat ourselves and others with high regard.

Whole School Approach towards Discipline:

Care for Myself

Care for Others

Care for Environment

When pupils show care and respect themselves, others around them and the environment they live in,
they will be able to progress towards the vision of being Innovians who are self-disciplined and value-driven.

Student Leadership Framework

Anchoring on the Student Leadership Challenge framework by Kouses and Posner - In Innova Primary School, we believe that everyone can be a leader in their own right even though they do not hold a significant or official leadership role in the school.

As a baseline, all pupils are given equal opportunities by their teachers in the classroom setting to take up informal leadership roles.

Student Leadership

Student Leaders attending leadership training to understand the importance of teamwork and good communication skills to be effective leaders.

Student Leaders having hands on activities such as the making of straw hats to apply what they have learnt in the sessions.

Positive Discipline

School Leader's Time at the beginning of each team to set the tone and expectations.

Cyberwellness

Innovians attending a Cyber Security talk which raises awareness of cybersecurity and encourages adoption of good cyber hygiene practices.

Innovians are educated and encouraged to be secure online by holding a talk for them on digital defence during the commemoration of Total Defence Day. Lesson packages on SLS portals were also prepared to extend the learning.

Peer Support and Relationship (PSR)

Innovians feel safe, accepted and empowered in the Peer Support Relationships (PSR) structure which aims to create a supportive and caring environment.

Innovians through their role have developed skills in active listening, effective communication, greater
self-awareness and self-care.
