P5 NE Show 2025: A Sea of Red at the Padang
On 5 July, our Primary 5 pupils—accompanied by their Form Teachers and staff—turned up bright and early in spirited red tops, filling the school with a cheerful sea of red before heading to the Padang for the National Day Parade (NDP) NE Show. From the moment they arrived, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement!
The evening began with smart, precise marches by our uniformed groups, drawing proud cheers from the stands. Heads tilted skyward as the SAF aerial display roared overhead—fighter jets carving across the sky and the lion flyers gliding in to thunderous applause. The main show then swept everyone on a journey through time, using beloved NDP songs and dances to celebrate how Singapore has grown—against the odds—from past to present.
Between segments, pupils waved mini-Singapore flags, shook their clappers from the fun packs, and sang familiar anthems in unison. The Kallang Wave rippled through our section more than once, with smiles as bright as the stage lights. Dinner was a treat—KFC and snacks—fueling even more singing, cheering, and photo-taking with friends and teachers.
As the night reached its crescendo, the Padang lit up with spectacular fireworks blooming in red and white, perfectly timed to the final chorus of Majulah Singapura. Our pupils stood shoulder to shoulder, flags aloft, singing with pride—many experiencing a live parade for the first time. On the ride back, they eagerly shared highlights (top votes: the fighter jets, the mass dance, and of course—the fun pack goodies!) and reflected on what the show means for us as one people. They returned home tired but joyful, hearts full and voices hoarse, having lived the NDP spirit—Majulah Singapura!
Through this experience, pupils not only enjoyed the spectacle but also developed 21st Century Competencies such as civic literacy, collaboration, and social-emotional awareness, growing as active and responsible citizens. This meaningful platform gave every Primary 5 pupil the opportunity to experience, reflect, and grow—not just as parade-goers, but as gracious citizens of tomorrow.
