2023 National Cyber Wellness Advocacy Challenge (NCAC)

Our school participated in this year's National Cyber Wellness Advocacy Challenge (NCAC), which focused on spreading awareness of fake news and verifying news online.

We are proud to announce that we've clinched the Silver Award!

Our team of selected Cyber Wellness Leaders worked hard in creating an advocacy toolkit and disseminating information to their peers, teachers, and parents via SLS, CW website and class presentations. We have also posted a series of fake news (and a breakdown of why they are fake) on our social media platform.

The students learnt a lot during the process, and we would like to continue to advocate responsible usage of the internet. We hope you will join us in our cause.

Introduction

The spread of fake news has become a significant problem in today's digital age. False or misleading information can quickly circulate online, leading to confusion, misunderstandings, and even harm. Through this webpage, and as representatives of the Cyber Wellness Leaders, we hope to raise awareness about discerning fake news, so you can become more informed of online information and reduce the impact of misinformation in society.

We'd like to encourage you to question information, evaluate sources, and analyse content for credibility. On this webpage, you will learn steps to analyse content online for its credibility to protect yourself from manipulation and safeguard your decision-making processes!
