Cyber Wellness Tips from FCP

School Leaders to you!

" Open communication: Create a safe environment that encourages your child to share their online experiences, their thoughts and concerns with you. Such trusting and open dialogue can help identify potential online risks early.

Monitor online activity: Keep an eye on your child's online activities, the websites they visit, the apps they use, and the people they communicate with. Use parental controls or software to block access to inappropriate content.

Lead by example: Be a good role model by practising responsible online behaviour yourself. Your children are more likely to follow your example than your advice."
- Mr  Tan Chin Kee,  Fuchun Primary School, Vice-Principal (Academic)

" I have an agreement with my son on acceptable screen time. This also inculcates the importance of taking personal responsibility. Whenever the opportunity arises, we discuss cases such as news on game addiction. The sharing helps to create greater awareness of cyber risks."
- Mr Long Tien Ho,  Fuchun Primary School, ex-Vice-Principal (Admin)

" I have installed Google Family Link to monitor my children's usage. Sometimes they are unable to control the time spent hence such applications can help to restrict their time online. As parents, we will also set times that they can use their devices so that we will be able to browse online with them. This helps us to better understand and keep us in the loop as to what videos they are watching and the content that they surf online."
- Mr Corwin Chew, SAC member of Fuchun Primary School

Safer Internet -Tips for Parents

Our school commemorated Safer Internet Day 2023 with assembly talks raising awareness of how young children can stay safe on the internet by responding positively and responsibly online.

Cyberbullying, one of the many internet safety issues, was the topic of focus during the talks. Students were given practical handles to deal with cyberbullying incidents.

Through the assembly talks and our CCE(FTGP) Programme, we hope to inculcate good Cyber Wellness habits in our students and continue to work with parents to make the Internet a safer place for all to explore.
