一年级:《我的邻里》学习之旅
Students were brought to walk around the school compound and take a look at the facilities and buildings that can be seen near the school. Through this learning experience, they reinforced the vocabularies that they have learnt in their textbook, such as carpark, bus stop, church, park, HDB, basketball court etc.
教师带领一年级学生在校园内走一走,认识学校周围的设施,巩固课堂所学的词汇,例如多层停车车,巴士站,公园,组屋,篮球场等。
Students went on a "shopping spree" to choose the ingredients that they need in order to make a healthy sandwich. This E'Light Supermarket was set up with real items such as eggs, bread, can food, cereal and biscuits.
东源"小超市"的概念是让学生有机会触碰和“购买”食材。这次学生的任务是选择需要的食材来制作一份营养的三文治。
When "purchasing" ingredients to make their sandwich, students practiced sentence structures learnt in the textbook.
学生利用在课堂上所学过的句式来“购买”食材, 进行口语练习。
Students were tasked to make a sandwich at home and upload the making process photos and audio or video recordings onto SLS platform. This activity also encouraged family bonding as most of the students made the sandwich together with their parents or grandparents.
学生在家里和家长一起制作三文治。之后,学生在新加坡学习平台上分享三文治的照片,以及进行录音,说明制作的过程。
二年级:《学校菜园》学习之旅
Students were brought to tour the school garden and learn more about the different types of vegetables and fruits that were planted in the garden. Students not only get to see, touch and smell things like lime, tomatoes growing on the plants, they also reinforced the vocabularies that they have learnt in their textbook, such as names of different plants, vegetables, fruits and different parts of the plant.

Students went on a "shopping spree" to choose the ingredients that they need in order to make a healthy salad. This E'Light Supermarket was set up with real fruits and such as lettuce, carrots, pumpkin, broccoli, cucumber, beansprouts etc. The name of all these fruits and vegetables were taught in their textbook, which thus allow students to activate their prior knowledge and reinforced what was learnt.
东源"小超市"让学生有机会触碰和“购买”蔬菜水果。学生的任务是选择自己喜欢蔬菜和水果来制作一份蔬菜沙拉。
When choosing the type of vegetables they prefer to use for their salad, students were paired to ask their friends what type of vegetables they prefer. Students get to know more about their friends' preference while practicing the sentence structures learnt in the textbook.
学生利用在课堂上所学过的句式来问同伴喜欢什么蔬菜,为什么。这能让学生在一个较“真实”的情景里,进行口语练习。

三年级:《我的豆芽》日记
This activity is an extension of what was learnt in Primary 3A textbook unit 4 《奇妙的变化》. After the lesson, students were tasked to grow beansprouts at home, record the changes they see through photos or videos and upload the beansprout growing process photos and audio or video recordings onto SLS platform. Students were also encouraged to harvest their beansprouts and cook a dish with it.
上完3A课本第四课的听说剧场后,学生在家里种植豆芽,拍照记录豆芽的成长过程,把照片上载SLS平台。学生也能用自己种的豆芽煮一道菜,拍照上载SLS平台。最后,学生在SLS平台录音,说出种豆芽的心得或感受。
We aim to cultivate good reading habit in all our students. To motivate students to read Chinese storybooks, we design reading activities to infuse fun while reading.
培养良好的阅读习惯是很重要的。为了鼓励学生多阅读华文故事书,老师们绞尽脑汁,想出不同的阅读活动让学生在玩乐的同时也享受阅读的乐趣。
Code breaker 解码开宝箱
Our P3 and P4 students went to different reading stations to select the storybooks to read. After which, they will complete the different reading tasks presented in their worksheet relating to the stories that they have read. Upon completion of each reading stations, students will be given a number, at the end of the activity, they will have the code to unlock the treasure chest.
Treasure Hunt 寻找宝藏
Our P1 to P6 students were brought to the school library to find treasure maps that were hidden in storybooks placed on the shelves. After reading the storybooks, they will complete the questions on the treasure map and submit the treasure map to their Chinese Language teachers who will then award them with points.
Reading Week Incentive 阅读周奖励
After collecting points during the entire reading week, our P1 to P6 students exchanged their points with a reward in the canteen. Look at their bright smiles enjoying their rewards!
Storybooks Exhibition 故事书展
Throughout the reading week, we also set up a reading exhibition to introduce different genre of storybooks to our students.
