Welcome to the official homepage of the early access pilot. This microsite is your one-stop resource for the next generation of productivity tools for teachers. The pilot study will pave the way for managed iPad, Cloud PC and Secure Browser solutions as an evolution of your SSOE workspace. This early access pilot will be conducted in three distinct phases.
Closed beta for functional, usability and system integration testing.
Extended closed beta for scalability testing and statistical significance.
Pilot with Managed iPads for productivity transformation and zero-touch onboarding testing.
In the modern classroom, every second counts. We understand that the 'clunkiness' of traditional hardware, the lack of convenient yet secure access to critical information, and the limitations of "lockdown" devices can hinder the primary mission: Teaching.
The motivation behind this pilot is to solve the "Friction Gap" by providing:
Freedom of Movement: Providing an alternative to traditionally clunkly devices with a lightweight, high-performance, zero-touch self-provisioning iPad bundle, allowing you to teach from anywhere in the classroom.
Instant Access: Mobile access. With Cloud PC and Secure Browser, your digital workspace is ready before your students are.
Security by Design: Protecting our data by moving it from vulnerable physical devices to a secure, zero-trust cloud environment. No more thumb drives; no more local data risks.
Imagine having instant access to your familiar SSOE environment—complete with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and all your essential files—from anywhere. You no longer need to carry your SSOE laptop back and forth just to stay on top of your workload. Whether you want to piece together PowerPoint slides for your next class from the comfort of your living room, co-plan lessons with fellow teachers at a café after school, or dive into weekend lesson planning without lugging hardware around, Cloud PC makes it possible.
Secure Browser gives you immediate access to your most critical web-based tools, including your CES email web-app, the MOE Intranet, and the School Cockpit, without needing to load a full desktop setup. Imagine checking and responding to urgent emails from parents or school leaders while commuting, without ever opening your work laptop. Experience the ultimate on-the-go convenience, knowing that sensitive student records and school data remain completely protected with built-in Zero Trust safeguards.
Not sure whether to launch the Cloud PC or open the Secure Browser? It all comes down to the task at hand. Both tools are designed to untether you from your heavy school laptop, giving you flexible, secure access to essential resources from any device.
Choose the Cloud PC for the heavy lifting. Think of it as your full workspace. If you need to prepare comprehensive lesson plans from home, co-edit PowerPoint slides with colleagues, or save research materials directly to your OneDrive, the Cloud PC is your go-to.
Choose the Secure Browser for quick, on-the-go access. If you just need to check and respond to urgent CES emails while commuting, update student details in the School Cockpit during a field trip, or look up MOE Intranet resources during an external professional development session, the Secure Browser is perfect.
"Also like that I can access CES Email easily for quick access to info without having the need to turn on SSOE laptop (or VPN if I am at home)."
- Closed Beta user A from YIJC
"The Browser was absolutely mind blowing. It brings so much convenience, I can forward CES email without opening my SSOE. It makes checking of CES Mail convenient and simple reply possible."
- Closed Beta user B from YIJC
"it was very cool to be able to access CES on the school issued iPad. very very convenient."
- Closed Beta user C from BLSS
As a pioneer in the this pilot, you aren't just a user—you are a co-creator. Your journey through the early access phases helps us refine the technology and policies before it rolls out to the wider community. Here are three key responsibilities of pilot user that can help us succeed:
The most valuable data comes from your daily, authentic workflow. We ask that you use the managed iPad, Cloud PC, or Secure Browser as your primary tools for actual tasks rather than simulated testing.
Why? We need to see how these tools perform under the pressure of real-world connectivity, classroom environments, and multitasking.
Encountered a bug? Feature request? Or perhaps a feature isn't as intuitive as it should be? We want to hear it all.
Action: Use our [Online Feedback Form] to submit suggestions or report issues as they happen.
Tip: No detail is too small—if it affects your productivity, we want to know.
To capture the "big picture," we conduct brief check-ins during each phase of the pilot (Closed Beta, Extended Closed Beta, and Managed iPad Pilot).
Commitment: You will be asked to complete at most two mandatory surveys per phase.
Goal: These surveys allow us to quantify user satisfaction and track improvements over time.
