Day 4
School Immersion at Taipei Municipal Zhanghe Junior High
Day 4 was the day we had all been waiting for: our immersive visit to our partner high school - Taipei Municipal Zhanghe Junior High School! Stepping directly into Taiwanese classrooms, our students sat side by side with their local peers to experience firsthand how Taiwanese students learn, from their interactive classroom dynamics and specialised electives to the rhythm of their daily routine. Sharing lunch and chatting about campus life gave our students rich insights into the lived experiences, academic pursuits, and everyday aspirations of Taiwanese youth, building strong interpersonal connections, active listening, and cross cultural communication through dialogue.

Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall
In the afternoon, we visited the iconic Chiang Kai shek Memorial Hall. Standing before the majestic architecture and watching the ceremonial guard change offered a powerful lesson in history, deepening our students' global perspectives, socio cultural sensitivity, and appreciation for regional heritage as they reflected on Taiwan’s historical and modern identity. As we wrapped up the day, it was inspiring to see our students connecting theoretical knowledge with real world, human experiences!
Ximending Street and Ximen Red House (西門紅樓)
To wrap up the day, our students explored the vibrant streets of Ximending and the historic Ximen Red House. Walking through the colorful pedestrian lanes filled with street art and youth culture gave everyone an exciting taste of modern Taipei. Right next door at the Red House, students discovered local arts, crafts, and history. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to step out of their comfort zones, build cultural awareness, and appreciate how Taiwan seamlessly blends its rich heritage with modern trends!
