Our P3 and P4 Higher Tamil Language enrichment activities provide students with opportunities to develop confidence and deepen their mastery of the Tamil language through authentic and engaging learning experiences beyond the classroom. Through role-play and immersive storytelling activities, students practise using descriptive vocabulary and accurate language structures while expressing themselves creatively and confidently. These experiences encourage critical thinking, strengthen communication skills, and nurture greater appreciation for the Tamil language.

The learning journeys provide students with opportunities to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Tamil culture through authentic and meaningful experiences beyond classroom. Our P3 students attended Marathi, a theatre performance by AK Theatre that blended traditional Tamil folk elements with modern storytelling. These experiences strengthen students’ appreciation of Tamil language, culture, and the performing arts.

Complementing the current curricular reading efforts are school-based reading initiatives such as fortnightly library visits and engaging activities including ICT-based games, role-playing, and bingo, which provide meaningful platforms for students to develop word recognition and comprehension skills in enjoyable ways. Students also strengthen their ability to summarise key ideas and expand their vocabulary through structured reading and article analysis, fostering positive reading habits and a vibrant reading culture. 

Each year, our students participate in the Tamilodu Vilaiyaadu Spelling Bee Competition organised by Mediacorp News, where they strengthen their Tamil language skills through teamwork and friendly competition. The competition helps students build confidence, perseverance, and quick thinking while deepening their appreciation for the Tamil language. Competing against more than 70 primary schools, our students attained 3rd place in 2025 and 2nd place in 2026.
