Grammar is a set of rules that help you to use a language correctly. If you know correct grammar, then it is easy for you to speak and write in ways that people can understand you.
First you need to know what are the building blocks of the English language. Like Lego, you will need to understand how the blocks fit together in order to build a phase (frasa) or a sentence (ayat).
English has four major word classes: nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs.
The other word classes include prepositions, pronouns, determiners / articles, conjunctions and interjections.
Many words belong to more than one word class. For example, book can be used as a noun or as a verb; fast can be used as an adjective or an adverb:
It’s an interesting book. (noun) / We ought to book a holiday soon. (verb)
He loves fast cars. (adjective) / Don’t drive so fast! (adverb)
