This is the best fit because pupils are listening to information presented in a video and demonstrating their understanding through discussion or questions.
Focus :
Understand specific details when listening to text on familiar topics
Learning Standard:
1.2.2 Understand with support specific information and details of longer simple texts.
Pupils identify countries, animals, landmarks, or cultural facts from the video.
Justification:
I chose these because the activity requires pupils to listen carefully and identify key details about European countries, animals, cultures, and famous landmarks from the video. Pupils demonstrate their understanding by answering questions based on the information they heard.
What do you hope to learn or be able to do by the end of this course?
My expectation by the end of this course is to be able to effectively implement the flipped classroom approach for lower primary students in a way that is engaging, interactive, and suitable for their learning needs.
In your own words, what is a flipped classroom?
My current understanding of a flipped classroom is that students are introduced to new learning content before class, usually by watching a short instructional video or exploring other learning materials. When they come to class, the teacher acts as a facilitator, guiding students through hands-on activities, discussions, and tasks that help them apply what they have learned.
What is one question or concern you have about implementing flipped learning?
However, my biggest concern about implementing flipped learning is the availability of technology and internet access, as well as ensuring students are committed to completing the pre-class learning activities. I also wonder how to keep younger learners motivated and supported throughout the process.
