AI is now an unavoidable part of education, and instead of avoiding it, I need to learn how to integrate it meaningfully into my teaching practice. AI can support me in lesson planning, creating teaching materials, and generating ideas for differentiated learning. It also helps students explore content more independently, but I must ensure it is used as a learning support tool rather than a replacement for their own thinking.
In my classroom practice, I can guide students to use AI in a structured way. For example, I may first allow students to use AI to generate answers or ideas for a task. Then in the next lesson, I can adjust or extend the questions based on their AI-generated responses. This allows me to shift the focus from simply getting answers to deeper learning, where students evaluate, reflect, and improve the information provided by AI.
I see my role evolving from being just a knowledge provider to becoming a facilitator of critical thinking and responsible AI use. I need to actively teach students how to question AI output, check accuracy, and use it ethically. Overall, I believe AI becomes most powerful in my teaching when it is used to enhance thinking, creativity, and understanding, rather than replacing the learning process.
