In today’s classroom with Dr Faisal, we discussed whether language barriers will still exist in an era where AI tools can instantly translate and generate language.
While technology has made communication more accessible, I believe that the role of an English teacher remains essential—just in a different and more meaningful way.
AI can help students translate words and sentences, but it cannot fully replace human communication skills such as expressing emotions, building relationships, and understanding context, tone, and culture.
Language is more than just words—it its about connection.
As an English teacher, my role is to guide students beyond basic understanding. I help them become confident communicators who can think critically, express their ideas clearly, and use language appropriately in real-life situations.
I also play an important role in teaching students how to use AI responsibly. Instead of depending entirely on technology, students need to learn how to evaluate information, ask meaningful questions, and use AI as a tool for learning rather than a shortcut.
Most importantly, I create a supportive environment where students feel safe to try, make mistakes, and grow.
Confidence, creativity, and communication are skills that cannot be fully developed through AI alone—they require human interaction and guidance.
