Agentic AI in education refers to advanced AI systems that can act independently to support teaching and learning by planning tasks, making decisions, adapting to student needs, and completing multi-step activities with minimal guidance.
Unlike traditional AI that only responds to direct prompts, agentic AI can analyze student performance, generate personalized learning materials, track progress, provide feedback, and recommend suitable interventions automatically.
In education, it helps teachers save time, improve personalized learning, and enhance classroom efficiency, while teachers remain essential for providing human guidance, emotional support, and professional judgment
In this class session, I learned how to create my own agentic AI using Google’s Gemini. My agentic AI, called EduBuddy AI, is designed to support teachers in planning, designing, and delivering engaging English lessons for Year 1 students based on the Malaysian DSKP English Year 1 syllabus.
