February Scholarships
This competition is open to Northern Virginia residents in their junior or senior year of high school.
Students must be active with their high school band or orchestra program
play a standard band woodwind, brass or percussion instrument
have a prepared selection which is readily available in a band accompaniment form (see application for further details)
be available and willing to commit,(if selected as a finalist) to the competition auditions at 7:00 pm, on Sunday, March 13, 2022. Applicant must also be available and willing to commit, if selected, to a performance date of Saturday, May 14, 2022.
A completed application signed and certified by the student's parent/guardian and band or orchestra director must be submitted.
Applicant must submit a good quality, unedited CD recording of the student performing the proposed work. (Accompaniment is preferred, but not required for the recording.) All application packages should be postmarked no later than February 18, 2022

AMOUNT: $5,000
This scholarship is to offset tuition, books and other academic resources for graduating seniors diagnosed or treated for cancer, or whose parents have been diagnosed or treated for cancer.
Applicant must reside in the area of Northern Virginia, which includes Loudoun County.
The applicant must be a 2023 high school graduate who will be a full-time college student starting Fall 2023
Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
A DIAGNOSIS LETTER MUST BE INCLUDED
The applicant must show demonstrated leadership ability in the school and community.
A current official transcript that includes the most recent grades is required.
Two letters of recommendation are required with one being from a counselor or teacher.
Parental/Guardian contact information is required.
A 200-250 word essay response.

This scholarship is awarded to a high school senior of African-American descent who is a resident of Loudoun County, Virginia and is graduating from a high school, virtual school or home school within or outside of Loudoun County.
Criteria:
Applicant must be pursuing higher education at an accredited institution of higher learning.
Required Documents:
Applicant must complete an online application.
An official transcript (a copy emailed from counselor or CCA) is required.
2 letters of recommendation (one must be from a teacher or school counselor) must be included.
A 300-word essay on "how your culture played a role in your personal experience in leading change, overcoming challenges and leadership development while being a student in Loudoun County?"

COMMUNITY COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP
This award is given to Black/African American male and/or female. Recipients of this award must enroll full time or 12 credit hours, in an accredited two-year (including technical school, junior college, or community college) institution in the fall after their senior year in high school. Award is based on verification of actual enrollment at Community College
FORTITUDE SCHOLARSHIP
This award is given to Black/African American students who have provided service to the school and the community through involvement in organizations, volunteer groups, or other activities.
HBCU EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP
This award is given to Black/African American male and/or female. Recipients of this award must enroll in a Historical Black College or University in the fall of 2022 ; demonstrated financial need and a strong record of community service. Award is based on verification of actual enrollment at HBCU.
LINDA GRIFFIN LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP
This award is given to deserving African-American female students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities in their communities and schools.
SELEAH WYCHE-JOYNER STEM SCHOLARSHIP
Given in memory of our deceased sorority member, Seleah Wyche-Joyner. Its purpose is to support and acknowledge African American female students pursuing education and careers in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) related fields. Applicants should demonstrate financial need and a strong record of community service.
Requirements for all Scholarships
Must be attend a 2 or 4-year college/university (including technical school, junior college or community college) in the fall of 2023.
Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or high on a 4.0 scale
A completed application and essay are required.
2 letters of recommendation emailed to the donor at scholarlcacdst@gmail.com with the student's name in the subject line. At least one letter from a teacher/staff member (it is preferred that the letters are on official letterhead and may be from a teacher, employer, volunteer supervisor, school counselor, or administrator)
The transcript may be unofficial and from StudentVue to include grades from fall of 2022

The PAF Student Scholarship is designed for high school athletes with intentions to attend a 2-year or 4-year college or university. The scholarship rewards high school athletes for their non-athletic achievements and assist them in achieving their academic career goals.
Required Documents:
All applications and coach's nomination packages must be signed, certified and returned by February 25, 2022
- Packages and support documents shall be uploaded and attached with each application and coach's nomination packages.
- Student applications must be certified by the applicant and a school's counselor. In addition, all coaches must certify their prospective nomination package.
NOTE-
The coach can certify within their nomination package. The students can send their applications to their counselor to certify. Upon completion, the student can submit their package.
