This overall structure of our college campus displays the two main buildings that are currently being used for learning at St Bede's. The Benedict Building (Stage 1) and the Flexible Learning Village FLV. As our college grows, the Minecraft Club intent to add Stage 2, 3 and 4 builds to this world. This club's initiative was to provide a virtual tour for all incoming students and community members.
Ozzie The Mozzie
By Logan
Ozzie the Mozzie is at Hexam. My inspiration was when I drive down to my Dad's I always drive past it. My building techniques included using stairs for the roof.
Nobbys Beach
By Ethan
I chose Nobbys Beach because it is a place I really like.
McDonald Jones Stadium
By Zac
I was inspired to build McDonald Jones Stadium because it was the first big stadium that I have played in and I wanted to bring it back to me. I have done some the shed and I had to think of a way to have a ball to kick the goals and I got it.
Chichen Itza
By Matthew
I built this using some scale. 1 block = about 2 metres. So I built the stairs up until they meet each other in a square shape then built up to the scale of 1 block = 2 metres.
Soutou Tenshu
By Alyssia
The Soutou Tenshu is a Japanese landmark that I have recreated. It has three levels and is one of the 12 original standing castles in Japan. It is used for official, private, and public purposes. The building techniques I used was placing stairs left and right for the each level. I put stone blocks to represent the down fall in the build. The features that I love are the tall bonsai trees everywhere and the triangular features on the sides of the second and third levels.
Marina Bay Sands
By Zac
Marina Bay Sands is three 55-story towers of luxury hotel rooms and suites connected by a massive Skypark. It opened in 2011 and cost US$5.8B to construct. The towers look like they are leaning against each other, start wide and then narrow only to widen again at the top.
Taj Mahal
By Joshua, Jordan & Billy
The Taj Mahal was built in 1632, by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a mausoleum for his wife Muntaz Mahal. It is constructed with white marble inlaid with semi precious stones, including jade, crystals, amethyst and turquoise. We chose the Taj Mahal because it is very big and beautiful and stands out. To recreate it, we found it a little tricky. We added stairs onto the outside of the dome roof and railings to make it look more roundish. We added glass and bars to the windows to give it more character. We added art work to the outside of the foundations to make it look more realistic.
St Catherine's Catholic College Singleton
By Tobias, Will, Angus, Abby & Thomas
A group effort - started as an in-class Geography task to recreate the school in Minecraft form. Students have added some innovations such as the navigation "hub" to allow teleportation to a particular classroom.
The idea now is to use this as a method of induction and orientation for new students.
Big Ben
By Luka & Amelia
Big Ben is one of the main attractions in London. It also weighs more than 13 tons (13,760 kg). My partner and I intend to build a multilayer Big Ben with each layer being a different activity.
