The Pyramids Of Giza are about 4,500 years old, the tallest and oldest pyramid is 139m tall. We chose to do this because, we were fascinated by the pyramid’s ancient history. The biggest challenges were probably building and fitting the red stone inside the pyramid without bits sticking out. We had to reshape the pyramid a couple of times to fit the red stone with no bits sticking out. We were inspired by how the slaves managed to move and stack the blocks in such a way that it can be formed into a pyramid without machinery or special equipment.
To create this build, we had to think for a while on the main type of block we were going to use. It wasn't difficult to build the base and outside, but it was a challenge to fill up the inside. We played around with the elements of the Periodic Table, which was very fun. To make our clue trail we had to go through a lot of different riddles to find the right ones. We enjoyed this challenge.
We built the Eiffel Tower located in Paris, France. We wanted to build this landmark because it is built using interesting shapes and we thought it would be a challenge.
Rose's Grandparents live in Tamworth so that's why we chose this landmark.
We chose to recreate the Brewarrina Fish traps in Minecraft because they are an Aboriginal landmark.
I chose to build the Lincoln Memorial. I had been working on a group project submission and was discussing my work with my family. My sister gave me the inspiration to further my build by including a project on this memorial. To build this memorial I used coding and took great care and time to build the inside details to ensure the build was even on each side.
My thought was to build the Sydney Harbour Bridge because I knew lots about it. I have walked across plenty of times and driven even more. I had some good ideas at the start, but it was a bit hard. In the end though I managed. The hardest part of the build was the arch.
Our inspiration was the roof and its diverse design compared to other landmarks. We created this by using slash commands to form the water and sand. The materials we used were: oak wood planks, black stained glass, white concrete, black concrete, black carpet and red wool. The inspiration came from the time we went on an excursion to the Opera House and we always wanted to build it in Minecraft so this was the perfect opportunity to do so.
We chose this because all of our group loves Japan and its culture. The roof was made with different curves, and the rest was structural and detailed with specific blocks that looked similar.
We decided to create a Minecraft version of our school St Mary's Catholic College Gateshead. We tried to replicate the original building as closely as possible using a mixture of brick and white concrete. We chose to create a Minecraft version of our school as we enjoy creating detailed builds like this one.
