Mrs. Amanda Badgett (Last name P-Z)

Mrs. Badgett has been a counselor at MHS since 2008. Prior to joining the staff at MHS, Amanda taught high school English in the Holden R-III School District for 1 year before joining the staff at Ava R-I School District. She taught high school English in Ava for 2 years while completing her Master of Science in Counseling at Missouri State University. She was hired as one of 2 high school counselors in Ava in 2002. In addition to her role as a high school counselor, Mrs. Badgett also serves as an adjunct instructor at Drury University and Missouri State University. Mrs. Badgett is married to TAB, a corporal with the Missouri State Highway Patrol. They live in Springfield with their 2 dogs, Herbie and Quincy. Mrs. Badgett is the 9-12 grade counselor for students with last names P-Z.

Herbie Badgett- ATD REgistered therapy dog 

Herbie is a Valley bulldog (1/2 English bulldog and 1/2 boxer).  He has passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen, the AKC Community, and the AKC Urban tests. He and Mrs. Badgett are a registered therapy team through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs.  Herbie is quiet and calm boy who loves to see all the kids at school.  He lives with Mrs. Badgett, her husband, and his four-legged brother, Quincy.  

Quincy Badgett- ATD REgistered therapy dog 

Quincy is a Valley bulldog (3/4 English bulldog and 1/4 boxer).  He has passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. He and Mrs. Badgett are a registered therapy team through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs.  Quincy is lively boy who loves to have his belly rubbed and his chin scratched.  He lives with Mrs. Badgett, her husband, and his four-legged brother, Herbie.
