Bridging the Gap

The stream in this project is an important symbol. It connects the site to its history and signals the transition of the Hill District to a sustainable, vibrant, modern time period. Nature is integrated into modern urban design to create a blend of productive indoor and outdoor spaces.

Lower Hill District Master Plan

The Lower Hill Bridging the Gap design looks to create a sustainable, connected, livable community. A large open space in the center of the site allows for outdoor and community programing to occur.

Lower Hill Design

These drawings show the relationship between designed building footprints and the surrounding urban context. Building layout preserves and emphasizes views of the city skyline, and increase in height closer to the CAP project. The site aims to emphasize and facilitate the connection between the Hill District and Downtown Pittsburgh through the previously proposed CAP project
