The 42nd series of the Student Project Program of Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology(KSCST) witnessed the team from Mechatronics Department of Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE) win the “Best Project of the year -2019” under Seminar & Exhibition Category. The event is supported by Department of Science & Technology of Government of India and the State Government through KSCST.
The project “Production of Ink and Paint Products from Internal Combustion Engine Exhaust Soot” by Mohd. Arzoo, Mohd. Zakariya, Rifad Pallikkandi and Aswanth M V was guided by Ms. Rumana Ali, Assistant Professor of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering.
The student proposals from around the state was reviewed by an expert panel which has Senior Scientists from the renowned Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and other national labs. Selected projects are funded by KSCST. On completion, the projects are again reviewed by expert panel which selects the projects for Seminar and Exhibition based on the innovation and its contribution to the society at large. This year MITE won the best project award from among 350 student teams from 109 colleges which competed at the State level exhibition.
