The Department has an infrastructure of global standards that cater to the need of emerging Mechatronics graduates. The infrastructure is designed and developed to promote learning and aid delivery of quality technical education.
The classrooms are well lit and built to act as a conducive space that would promote active learning. High speed internet connectivity, Digital Projectors, comfortable furniture’s support learning.
The institution believes that the students are in the know of the nuances of the industry policies and practices. For this, it becomes inevitable to have collaborations with industry veterans. The institution has built amazing network with industry and have developed their Center of Excellence's through which students are trained and certified to make them industry ready.
The Siemens CoE in digital design, validation, and manufacturing is established in 2016 at a cost of 79 Million USD and offers industry certified training to the students of Second and Third year of Engineering.
The Center of Competence in Automation technology is set up with an investment of INR.5.5 Crores and trains students on PLC, Hydraulics & Pneumatics and Mechatronics
The Laboratory is established with an investment of around INR 50 Lakhs, has IRB1520 ID Industrial Grade 6 Axis Articulated Robot and 50 Licences of Robot Simulation Software. The robot operates on 3-Phase supply with a stabilizer for voltage fluctuation protection and has teach pendant for providing input commands. The robot is capable of performing palletizing operation and Welding simulation and comprises of a mechanical as well as pneumatic gripper for pick-and-place operations. The robot has a rated payload capacity of 4 kg and has a reach of 1500mm.
In addition to this, MITE has MoU with Carl Zeiss for Industrial Metrology, partnered with KPIT Technologies for PACE Program, Infosys for the Campus Connect Program.
Mechatronics being an inter-disciplinary engineering stream has the right mixture of Electrical, Mechanical and IT Labs which provides hands-on experience to the graduating students.
