The Department of Mathematics pursues the philosophy of carrying out education and research on mathematics that serves as the foundation for various sciences, as well as development of science and society. The Department with the combined capabilities and expertise and researchers, is engaging research that supports the on-going theoretical development of the mathematical sciences, and that simultaneously promotes the interdisciplinary use of mathematics in science, engineering and other fields.The Department is recognised as Research Centre from VTU from 2015. The department faculty have published many papers in national and international journals. The Department as three research guides and four research scholars.
