To get students excited about our next Inquiry topic, we wrote a creative piece for our Writer’s Gift called “If I Went to Space.”
Students used their imaginations to come up with creative ideas about what they would love to see and do if they travelled to space.
They had lots of fun describing their space adventures and sharing their stories with the class!
This week in Maths, students have continued learning about multiplication, exploring repeated addition and arrays to help build their understanding.
We also began learning about 3D shapes, focusing on the features of each shape, including faces, edges, and vertices. Students enjoyed using hands-on materials to identify and describe these features in different objects around the classroom.
In Humanities, we will continue our learning about Victorian Aboriginal Nations and Languages. This week, we are exploring the Woiwurrung seasonal calendar, as practiced by the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. Students will learn that, unlike the European four-season calendar, the Woiwurrung people recognise six distinct seasons, each connected to changes in weather, plants, and animal behaviours. We will discuss how these seasons guide traditional practices and reflect the deep connection between the Wurundjeri people and the land.
