Student Research

I've worked on research with a variety of graduate and undergraduate students. On this page you'll find some of the workshops I work with, along with a few documents to get students started.

REUs and Workshops

2024 - Combinatorics and Coding Theory in the Tropics @ University of Puerto Rico, Ponce

This is a Research Experience for Undergraduates, hosted by the University of Puerto Rico in Ponce.

I am one of the Faculty Personnel for the 2024 REU. I will assist with the selection process, and will be present for the full summer, assisting with the projects. The application can be found here.

2024 - Graduate Research Workshop in Combinatorics @ UW Milwaukee

"The Graduate Research Workshop in Combinatorics (GRWC) is an annual two-week collaborative research workshop for advanced graduate students and postdocs from all areas of combinatorics.  Participants work in small collaborative groups with faculty and postdocs on research problems from across the discipline.   The workshops also host a variety of professional development workshops to prepare students and postdocs for industrial and academic careers."

I am one of the Faculty Personnel for the 2024 workshop. I assisted with the selection process, and will be present for both weeks of the workshop, assisting with the projects.

2022 - Summer@ICERM

In summer 2022, I worked with the Summer@ICERM program. Over the course of the eight-week program I assisted the organizers with managing the various teams of undergraduates as they worked on projects related to parking functions. This program is gave me an inside look at the various procedures for a summer research experience: everything from how the applications for funding are written, selection of projects suitable for undergraduates, the organization of the summer, how to determine student strengths and select research groups, and other aspects of mathematical development. My primary group consisted of three undergraduates, who worked with me under the supervision of organizer Pamela Harris. I have also collaborated with a second group from the Summer@ICERM program over the course of the 2022-23 academic year.
