Service
Committee and service work is split up by the institution employing me while I conducted the work. Other service work can be found on the outreach, equity, or mentoring pages.

Advisory Committee: In the last year, the Applied Math Major has been revamped, and a new Statistics Certificate is being offered. I have been involved in meeting with the outside advisory committee on what future employers look for in a mathematics major. The goal of these meetings is to help improve class offerings, professional development options for students, and the sorts of portfolios that successful students should have after participating in a Statistics Certificate program.
Curriculum Updates for Lower Division Mathematics Offerings: I was involved the selection of an update to the curriculum for Precalculus, and the Calculus series at Rockhurst. We have moved to open source textbooks, and Edfinity as an online problem system to assist with the financial burden on our students.
Grading and Course Design Discussions: We are also involved in discussions on new education research on course design and grading options. In the fall, we met to discuss Ungrading. Over the last year, we have also been discussing my colleagues’ work with mastery based grading in Calculus courses.
Honors Project Supervisor: I have worked for a year supervising student projects for honors credits in my Calculus 2 and Linear Algebra course. These projects are designed to allow the student to explore an additional topic in more depth than we have time for in a typical course.
