Lesson 1:
To explain what makes a video effective
Year 5 where introduced to video as a media format. They saw examples of videos featuring production and editing techniques that they will work towards using their own videos. Year 5 began by explaining what the medium of video is before analysing and comparing examples of videos.

Lesson 2:
To identify digital devices that can record video
Year 5 explored the capabilities of a digital device that can be used to record video. Once they are familiar with their device (Ipad) , year 5's then experimented with different camera angles, considering how different camera angles can be used for different purposes. Some camera angles included, 'close up', 'side by side', 'full body'.
In this shot we were filming the 'side by side' where two people are in front of the camera.

Lesson 3 & 4
To capture video using a range of techniques & To create a storyboard
Year 5 for this lesson created a storyboard to explore a variety of filming techniques, some of which they will use in their own video project later in the unit. They evaluated the effectiveness of these techniques before offering feedback on others’ work.
Lesson 5:
To identify that video can be improved through re-shooting and editing
Year 5 for this lesson filmed the remaining scenes of their video, and then imported their content to video editing software. hey used IMovie to edit and finalise their films. They then explored key editing techniques and decided whether sections of their video should be edited or needed to be shot again.
