CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES, PARENT AND COMMUNITY COLLABORATION
Smart Goal from Each Service Delivery Component in the Texas Model
Individual Planning: Counselors will meet with the MTSS committee and parents quarterly by May 2025 to review the progress of all 84 students in the program.
Guidance: Counselors will deliver six classroom guidance lessons to all kindergarten students by May 2025, to increase their knowledge of social skills. The effectiveness of the lessons will be measured by a post-lesson survey, which will show at least 85% of students can identify and describe two of the three key social skills: sharing, taking turns, and using kind words.
Responsive Services: Counselor will facilitate six weekly, 30-minute small-group sessions for second-grade students by April 2025, to teach and practice conflict resolution skills. This will be measured by a pre- and post-group assessment showing at least 80% of participating students can identify three conflict resolution strategies.
System Support: Counselors will lead a professional development training for 100% of school staff on the "Bouncy's Ready to Learn Resilience program" by January 2025.

To help kindergarten students improve social skills, three guidance lessons were held, focusing on sharing, turn-taking, and using kind words. After the lessons, students showed significant improvement, with sharing increasing from 35% to 80%, turn-taking from 45% to 90%, and using kind words from 40% to 85%. Teachers observed better social interactions, and small groups were created to provide additional guidance and practice in positive peer interactions.
