While you are a TLC employee, you will use your assigned employee username as your SURF ID to log in to MiraCosta Portal systems, including your access to Canvas as a student.
Exception: Access to Orientations/MyEdPlan in SURF and your MCC Student Email Account will require your W Student ID Number login; this may require you to use a different or incognito browser when you log in.
Each day that you work, you will use your employee username to log in to the Employee Hub in Canvas, which is linked from any of the three Centers' websites (ASIC, STEMLC, or WC). The Hub has important announcements, calendar events, and access to all of the systems you will use in your work, including:
SARS Anywhere Learning Centers - to view your work schedule (including any scheduled tutoring appointments) and to track tutoring sessions
Workday - to enter time worked at the end of your shift and to submit time on your last working day of the week; also to view pay slips and tax information
Work Email - to access employee work email through Outlook in Office 365
Training modules, what to do for Last Minute Absences, how to Request A Day Off for the future, and how to apply to work an available shift
Links to the Google Workspace to access work reference guides and files, your MiraCosta Zoom account, and this Employee Manual.
MiraCosta uses Okta for its sign-on authentication. When signing in, if you are denied access to a system you may need to use a different or incognito browser to log in. Double-check that you are signed in with your employee account. If you are signed in as a student, click "Sign out" and then log back in with your employee username.
Contact the Employee Help Desk with questions or issues with your employee account (although you may be an MCC student, be sure to communicate that it is your employee account that you need assistance with).
