FAQs

Do Special Education students require a personal reading plan?

Refer to the Special Education FAQ or contact your special education supervisor with guidance on special education students.

What if it is a student who is with an IEP and on Alternative Standards?

Please refer to the Special Education FAQ-skip the Screener, go to the Diagnostic, and create a PRP (the Special Education FAQ as more information to assist the Special Education Teacher).

Does a student need a reading plan if they score below the 25th percentile on the screener, but then score above the 25th percentile on the diagnostic?

Yes, every student who scores below the 25th percentile on the screener needs a Personal Reading Plan in Infinite Campus. Students who score higher on the diagnostic still need a Personal Reading Plan, however may have “Continue explicit tier 1 instruction and monitor progress” as the plan notes and details.

What if a student has a PRP and scores at or above the 40th percentile on the screener in the future?

K5-2nd Grade-may end date the plan and exit the student out. If 3rd Grade, must wait for the Spring Forward Results and score Meets Expectations.

How do I end date the PRP if the student has exited out?

Because it doesn't have a start/end date function on the form, you'll simply enter the exit date at the bottom of the form. This may be revised for the 26-27 SY.

When does the personalized reading plan (PRP) go home?

The law says that the plan must be created within 10 days of a completed diagnostic test. Schools can wait until the District has sent home the screener communication to send home the personalized reading plan. If schools want to send the PRP home prior to the District information being sent, the wording below can be printed on to school letterhead and sent home.
