Diagnostic Testing Requirements for Act 20 - English
Students identified as “at risk” by scoring below the 25th percentile on specific assessments in the aimswebPlus screener (grades K5 through 3) are required to participate in diagnostic testing. Students in K4 do not participate in diagnostic testing.
English: The following aimswebPlus tests determine if a student is "at risk"
K5: aimswebPlus Composite Score calculated using Letter Naming Fluency and Letter Word Sound Fluency
Grade 1: aimswebPlus Composite Score calculated using Nonsense Word Fluency, Word Recognition, and Oral Reading Fluency
Grades 2-3: aimswebPlus Oral Reading Fluency
Grades 1–3:
The i-Ready Diagnostic used for benchmarking will also fulfill the Act 20 diagnostic requirement (students complete only one i-Ready Diagnostic per season). In addition, students must complete:
i-Ready RAN Literacy Task - video on how to access and score
aimswebPlus Listening Comprehension - for 3rd grade, Listening Comprehension scores cannot be entered into the aimswebPlus platform. Hold onto the paper copy for reference for each student.

Students scoring below the 25th percentile are required to complete the i-Ready RAN Literacy Task and aimswebPlus Listening Comprehension only once per school year, during the testing window in which they were identified as “at risk.”
