Assessment Hub

Starting in the 2024–25 school year, all students in K4 through grade 3 in Wisconsin public school districts and independent charter schools will participate in the aimswebPlus early literacy screener. This screener helps identify key reading skills to support every child’s success.  

"At Risk" Students: 

• Considered "at risk" if student scores below the 25th percentile

• A  diagnostic reading assessment will be given to identify specific need  - this requirement is met when the i-Ready Diagnostic is completed in reading.  i-Ready Diagnostic does NOT need to be taken twice (grades 1-8 already take it as a benchmark) 

• A personal reading plan will be created to provide targeted support

Points to Remember:

• It's important to know that participating in the screener is required for all students. Families do not have the option to opt out

• These assessments are a vital tool to help ensure that all students receive the support they need to grow as readers

• Parents/guardians with questions are recommended to reach out to their child’s teacher or school

Timelines for administering diagnostic & creating the personalized reading plan (PRP)

• The additional tasks for diagnostic are the literacy task RAN in i-Ready & Listening Comprehension in aimswebPlus

• Teachers need to administer the diagnostic within 10 calendar days of completing the aimswebPlus screener for any student that scored below the 25th percentile.

• Teachers need to create a personalized reading plan within 10 calendar days of completing the diagnostic.
